Hear from our Chairman about the latest update on West Adelaide SC. – January 7, 2026

West Adelaide Soccer Club enters the new season with strong momentum across all levels of the Club, highlighted by key on-field achievements, major infrastructure progress and continued commercial growth.

Following a strong year of development, the Club’s Junior program has been promoted into Tier 1, a significant milestone that reflects the dedication of our coaches, volunteers and families. This progress is further supported by the approval of the B27 redevelopment, with concept design now underway.

Once delivered, this project will play an important role in enhancing facilities and strengthening junior pathways.

SENIOR FOOTBALL

Our Senior Men’s program enters the new season in a strong position following a State League 1 Championship in 2025 and promotion back to South Australia’s top tier. This achievement reflects the collective effort of players, staff and the Senior Football Committee, who have worked tirelessly to re-establish West Adelaide as a destination club.

The squad has been carefully strengthened to balance experience with opportunity. We’re pleased to welcome Diego from Para Hills, captain of the 2025 NPL All Stars against Adelaide United, whose leadership and top-level experience will be invaluable. At the same time, the Club remains firmly committed to developing emerging talent, with players such as Riley Stam, Maksim Ivanic, Sidiki Dukuly, Ben Hughes and Jaden Gasking continuing to be
provided meaningful senior opportunities.

Off the field, the football department has been further strengthened with enhancements to the senior coaching structure, ensuring alignment across all three senior teams. Vince Pagnozzi, Luke Bettany and senior player Joel Sanderson will lead the Development Squad program, reinforcing continuity and pathway progression.

We also acknowledge and thank Dimi Toumazos on his retirement from senior football. Dimi is a club legend whose contribution has been outstanding, and we look forward to seeing him remain connected with the Club in the future.

Finally, we thank departing players Jun Ota, Rovu Boyers, Ethan Nassua, Yuya Kato and Amir Ibrahim, all of whom played important roles in our promotion campaign. We wish them every success in their next chapters.

Off the pitch, the Club continues to build positive commercial momentum, with new sponsor announcements to be released in the coming weeks. The ongoing support of our partners remains critical as we continue to grow sustainably.

As we move forward, I would like to thank our members, players, volunteers and partners for their continued support. There is a strong sense of optimism around the Club, and we look forward to an exciting season ahead.
